Expansive Breathwork

What is breathwork?

Breathwork can be a powerful and profoundly healing tool, this can be experienced in infinite ways all unique to our individual psyches in the present moment.

Conscious, connected breathwork (CCB) is a simple and dynamic practice that helps us to focus on the breath and body and allow our thinking minds to take a break. We breathe through an open mouth generally, unless there are health reasons to adapt the breath, music will be used as a carrier wave throughout the session, you will be encouraged to listen to your body.

What are the potential benefits of breathwork?

Deep rest stress relief and relaxation

Health improved immunity

Healing gently releasing trauma or letting go of blocks

Insights clarity and insights on personal process

Expanded states of consciousness – connection to the mystical

Mind increased cognitive flexibility

Community share with other people through group sessions or the integration circles interested in breathwork to heal and reach expanded states of consciousness

Find a session that works for you

These facilitated Expansive Breathwork sessions are a contained and supported space to feel, breathe and heal. Breathwork sessions allow us to be present in our body whilst new neural pathways form, releasing locked patterns and regulating our nervous system.

Group Expansive Breathwork

Coming together and exploring this work as a group, in-person or online, allows us to have our individual journey supported by experienced facilitators within the strength and compassionate vulnerability of a group.

One to One Expansive Breathwork

You may feel you require a personal approach to your journey of healing, maybe you are working with anxiety or depression, would like to release trauma or open to compassion. These workshops are a place to work with specific processes in a safe container to work with whatever arises. I encourage self-expression and a deep listening to the body to support your work. I welcome you to a free connection call to discuss your needs and hopes and to explain a little more about how an Expansive Breathwork session may work for you.

Integration

Integration supports the process of bringing our experiences of expanded states into the day to day.

When we gift ourselves the space to explore and translate our experiences, we can then begin to make changes that support our healing. When we can share this process with others, we learn and inspire each other, plant the seeds of understanding and begin to root our experiences so that we may flourish.

As a Psychotherapist and a Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist I understand the importance of preparation and integration to get the most out of a breathwork experience. You will be given a preparatory breathwork practice, to start the week before your session and some guidance on intentions and expectations. You will be invited to free monthly community online integration circles, a place to stay connected to any insights and make meaning from your process. These spaces are a valuable resource to hold a focus on our individual healing paths. You can come and just listen; our processes touch one another, we can all learn from each other and from those that wish to gift their process to the group.

Ancient wisdom for the modern age

Pneuma in Gnostic, Ha in Polynesian, Ruha in Hebrew and Spiritus in Latin all connecting breath with spirituality.

The resurgence of breathwork in the west was influenced by Stan Grof, a psychiatrist who held over 4500 therapeutic LSD sessions with patients in clinical research settings, and his wife Christina. They developed Holotropic Breathwork as a response to the ban of psychedelic substances and all research in the 1970’s to reach expanded states of consciousness, without the substances. Since then, many breathwork modalities have taken the world by storm due to its simplicity and transformational potential. Conscious, connected breathwork is a popular method used by many schools and my sessions are greatly informed by some incredible experiences with various breathwork modalities including Holotropic Breathwork and my training and work as a Integrative Breathwork Facilitator and a Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist.
